Structure of Future Continuous Tense

FUTURE CONTINUOUS/PROGRESSIVE TENSE

The tenses simply show the time of an action.

Future Continuous Tense indicate an action which will be in progress at some definite time in the future.

The Structures of Future Continuous/Progressive Tense

POSITIVE FORM (+):  

  • Subject + WILL + BE + Verb-ING

NEGATIVE FORM (-):

  • Subject + WILL + NOT + BE + Verb-ING

QUESTION FORM (?):

  • WILL + Subject + BE + Verb-ING



POSITIVE (+) NEGATIVE (-) QUESTION (?)
I will be starting I will not (won’t) be starting Will I be starting
You will be starting You will not (won’t) be starting Will you be starting
He will be starting He will not (won’t) be starting Will he be starting
She will be starting She will not (won’t) be starting Will she be starting
It will be starting It will not (won’t) be starting Will it be starting
We will be starting We will not (won’t) be starting Will we be starting
You will be starting You will not (won’t) be starting Will you be starting
They will be starting They will not (won’t) be starting Will they be starting




Positive Sentences ( Sbj + will + be + Ving )

Examples:

  • When you arrive, I will be sitting in the park.
  • I will be loving you.
  • I will be waiting for you.
  • It will be raining at this time tomorrow.
  • He will be visiting his friends this time next week.
  • She will be watching TV.
  • This time tomorrow, we will be working on our project.
  • They will be writing letter to each other.

Negative Sentences ( Sbj + will not + be + Ving )

Examples:

  • When you arrive, I will not (won’t) be sitting in the park.
  • I  will not (won’t) be loving you.
  • I  will not (won’t) be waiting for you.
  • It  will not (won’t) be raining at this time tomorrow.
  • He will not (won’t) be visiting his friends this time next week.
  • She will not (won’t) be watching TV.
  • This time tomorrow, we will not (won’t) be working on our project.
  • They will not (won’t) be writing letter to each other.

Question Sentences ( Will + Sbj + be + Ving )

Examples:

  • Will you be sitting in the park when I arrive?
  • Will you be loving me?
  • Will you be waiting for me?
  • Will it be raining at this time tomorrow?
  • Will he be visiting his friends this time next week?
  • Will she be watching TV?
  • This time tomorrow, will we be working on our project?
  • Will they be writing letter to each other?
